2. the translation for this chat is fairly straightforward but I do want to take a moment to talk about what I generally affectionately refer to as The Katara Effect™
so there are a lot of character x player hints especially in the earlier chats (summer memories is a goldmine of dating sim tropes) & they sort of fade more into the background in later chats — whether that's meant as a change in direction (particularly with the arrival of gaku "no tsumugi no life" yaotome) or as a sign that these kids' hormones have finally calmed down is debatable (although in part 2 tsumugi has a line wrt nagi that goes something like "I mustn't allow myself to be caught up or found falling for a member's charms..... gotta change the topic somehow..... dID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE NEW COCONA ANIME")
but a lot of people I know are generally very averse to the concept of i7 becoming a reverse harem and so although I can't speak for the writers' intentions I can at least say that in both fiction and in real life it's a very real tendency for characters to develop feelings for the first semi-attractive member of the opposite gender they meet. generally you see this more with, like, grade school crushes, but it's worth considering that for a lot of the i7 boys, tsumugi is probably one of the first girls they've met who works so closely and personally with them, and also generally overflows with positivity, so in that sense it's kind of? inevitable? that they'll develop (often ultimately superficial) feelings for her
I'm not sure where I'm going with this exactly and this is getting kinda preach-y but basically personally I think that the character x player potential is very much Your Mileage May Vary & largely up to interpretation, but for people who don't really care for the idea of shipping tsumugi with the i7 members, I think that considering it from this angle is? a good way to reconcile the shipping hints as being something that's more meant to imply that some of these boys were kind of emotionally/physically isolated as kids
