2. anyways the above is the line that tamaki's referencing in this chat! "a dream of the highest caliber" is my arbitrary translation of the line, you can see it in my hot mess of a t/l for joker flag, but there's a bunch of different ways you can transliterate it!
the general implication is just a really really amazing dream that surpasses all expectations, I also like "an ultimate dream" and "a dream beyond our wildest dreams" bc I like repetition apparently as phrasings!
3. the characters keep differentiating between 曲 and 歌 and like 50 other words that all basically mean "song" or "music" but w/ different connotations and I've never commented on their differing uses before because.... truth be told........... I really have no idea what the distinction is!
my best guess is that I think 曲 is meant to be slightly more musical? like there's more of an emphasis on the melody/tune/composition of the song, whereas 歌 is used moreso when referring to the lyrical/verbal aspects of a song? in either case they're still referring to a 'song' and english lacks a wide array of synonyms w/ slightly differing connotations for the word song so here I am with roughly 0 composition theory background trying to make my most educated guesses
BUT AT THE SAme time I think it's actually a pseudo-rule of sorts as to which word is used in which contexts?
anyways in this case tamaki's saying he listened to the 曲! and in my head I know it would've been really weird if he'd used 歌 instead but heck if I know how to put that knowledge into words ☆

5. never have I agreed more with the verdict of "hard" wrt joker flag but can you imagine tamaki listening to his parts because I am 90% certain he's in the rap somewhere and being like "ahhhhhhh"
