TAMAKI YOTSUBA / DAY OFF : PART 3
Jan. 6th, 2016 05:54 pm【TAMAKI】: Even if I'm loud at night they can just hit the wall instead of getting angry at me.
【TSUMUGI】: I, I think that hitting the wall is proof that they're angry!
【TSUMUGI】: Tamaki-san, I'm sorry to bother you while you're studying!
There are plans to carry out a maintenance at the dorms, but, is there anything that's been concerning you?
【TAMAKI】: Not really no
【TSUMUGI】: Is that so. If you notice anything, please tell me!
【TAMAKI】: Got it
【TSUMUGI】: Now that I think about it... Tamaki-san, your room is between Sogo-san and Nagi-san.
Why is it, that you decided on that order?
【TAMAKI】: After I said I was fine with wherever it happened
【TAMAKI】: It was my first time having my own room so I was super happy.
Even if I'm loud at night they can just hit the wall instead of getting angry at me.
【TSUMUGI】: I, I think that hitting the wall is proof that they're angry!
【TAMAKI】: That's not it.
Mikki taught Sou-chan and Nagicchi to hit the wall if I'm loud.
【TAMAKI】: That's why, they think that's what it means when they go to hit it.
【TSUMUGI】: That sounds very typical of how refined those two are.......
【TSUMUGI】: Do you have any other requests?
【TAMAKI】: There's locks on everyone's rooms but I want them taken out.
It's too tedious to knock and wait for them to open the door. Lately, everyone's stopped locking them, though.
【TAMAKI】: I like this dorm. There's no regulations. I get my own room.
Mealtime and bathtime aren't decided for you.
【TSUMUGI】: When it comes to communal living, Tamaki-san, you'd be the senpai!
Because you were present, Tamaki-san, I think it was easier for everyone else to adapt to the lifestyle!
【TAMAKI】:
【TSUMUGI】:
【TSUMUGI】: Are you taking care of the cleaning?
【TAMAKI】: Sometimes.
Ever since Yama-san bought a cleaning robot, I've been saying I want the same one too, but they told me I can't use it if there's stuff scattered on the floor.
Then what's the point of a cleaning robot!!!
【TAMAKI】: I like this dorm. There's no regulations. I get my own room.

【TAMAKI】:
【TSUMUGI】:
【TSUMUGI】: What sort of room were you living in previously?
【TAMAKI】: Until middle school it was a 4-person room, starting in middle school it was a 2-person room.
It's my first time sleeping in a bed that's not a bunk bed.

t/n:
1. tsumugi needs to stop bothering these children while they're studying? smh
2. a note about the title, but 'life at the dorms' is probably meant to ambiguously refer to the variety of dorm-like places tamaki's lived in!
3. I'm not 100% sure I'm interpreting this right, but I think that basically the exchange between tsumugi and tamaki about hitting the wall is that tamaki is distinguishing between "hitting the wall because you're angry" and "hitting the wall because it's loud"; tamaki doesn't like it when people get mad at him, so basically the wall-hitting exchange (the way tamaki sees it) takes anger out of the equation!
meanwhile I'm laughing because from the way tamaki is describing it, both nagi and sougo don't realise that normally hitting the wall when someone's loud means that you're angry.......... idk which is worse, the thought that those two could be Just That Naive, or the fact that since neither of them have lived in shared quarters before it is entirely feasible for them to be Just That Naive
4. tamaki: "it's my first time sleeping in a bed that's not a bunk bed"
me: *sobs weakly*
actually let me correct myself
tamaki: *exists*
me: *sobs weakly*
5. sometimes I think about the order in which rabbit chats were written from a PD side and I kind of squint a bit
6. I can never remember if I stylise ヤマさん as yama-san or yamasan?
7. it's one thing for tamaki to be like "I want the locks taken off the doors" but it's another thing to think about how tHE FACT THAT THEy D on'T LOCk their doors anymore is, like, ........ how bad did they not trust each other when they first moved into the dorms, how much do they trust each other now, look at that character development,
mostly I can't believe tamaki keeps track of whether or not the others are locking their doors
