2. tsumugi is always particularly careful about maintaining a need-to-know basis when it comes to cross-member politics, I've noticed... she does it in the pythagoras fight too when yamato's like "did nagi tell you" "umm, well, no......t exactly...", and also in the main story when mezzo (pre-mezzo debut) first starts getting especially popular and she pulls tamaki and sougo aside separately to talk to them
point being tsumugi is always reaaaaally delicate whenever she feels like something could cause unrest amongst members (i.e. saying that someone snitched) and part of it I think is good business/HR tactics and part of it is also Tsumugi Takanashi Hates Conflict (and is Kinda Paranoid About It too) (in the first manga chapter she starts visualizing horror stories of idolish7 splitting up over Fundamental Differences In Viewpoints)
anyways I think that's why she tries to say it was a rumor she heard that riku and iori got in a fight but tbh tsumugi I think it backfired
3. btw as per unit standard this chat does overlap with iori's unit chapter 3! chronologically I think iori's happens first.
4. riku thought iori would go waa— with deep emotional impression (感激) and I'm torn between being like poor riku and his idealism setting him up for major がっかり and also being like ok riku in what world did you think iori izumi was capable of saying the word "wow"
(he said "wow" in his 4th unit chapter when he started spamming)
to put a more positive spin on it I think riku is on the right track about iori's character, but he expects iori to express things the same way he himself would? like, it's true that iori was appreciative of being invited to the game center by riku, but for riku to expect iori to go wild w/ excitement is very much riku jumping the gun a bit? idk how to explain this properly but the way I see it, riku sees iori's behavior (even when he acts cold or harsh) as being "gentle/kind/childish behavior", and so then when riku tries to visualise how he expects iori to react, he thinks of "gentle/kind/childish behavior" and then fills in the blank with how he himself (or someone who isn't Iori Izumi) would act gently/kindly/childishly, rather than matching it up with iori's textbook tsun gentle/kind/childish behavior? does that make sense........
basically it's like riku pays really good attention in class and obviously knows the material but then flunks all of the exams
5. Finally Someone Calls Iori Izumi On The Carpet For Being A Brocon
(even though iori's third unit chapter references riku calling him a brocon too and was the start of my timeless [iori voice] first of all joke)
6. riku just says that he became 嫌 about staying at the game center because iori did the opposite of his expectations, but [drags hands down face] I hate translating iya
basically what he's saying is that [implied] (staying at the game center) became something he felt unpleasantly/bad/reluctant about, so I took the implication and made it literal
7. this chat is riddled with interpretive translation decisions because I have less than twelve hours to jump 5,000 places on two accounts so holla
8. in the second dialogue path I'm not sure if riku is saying "yeah I guess it's my bad for being bad at games too" or if he's saying "if you say that then it makes it sound like I'm at fault for being bad at games".........
