The very first time when I made curry, everyone got drenched in sweat.

I had to google so many japanese names for foreign foods and now I'm hungry but I like how sougo named exactly 0 (zero) japanese foods as stuff he liked, which is *clears throat* probably representative of his Rich Kid upbringing
no, seriously, hold onto your hats, because I'm about to claim that sougo ousaka is anti-american propaganda
jk that's not what I'm here to say, but in all legitness sougo's dad's company (he has a name I think it's like soushi or s/t which looks rly silly in english and even sillier if you romanise it soshi) (sougo's dad confirmed for girl's generation) is Very Capitalistic as far as I can tell, and sougo's dad was pretty strict and like, authoritarian + meritocratic + all these other things, so it's not really a surprise to me that sougo was raised in a household where he ate a lot of american food
I know, chili really sounds like rich boy food doesn't it
but it is true that it's a tendency (at least in the west) for families who are slightly more well-off to eat more foreign cuisine, so I can imagine that possibly being the case in japan too?
there's also the fact that sougo is confirmed for traveling a lot or at least being very blasé to the idea of traveling in foreign countries so he could have also picked up his taste for tom yum while actually being in thailand, Who Knows
3. So.
The Pun.
in japanese tsumugi's third dialogue path reads "メンバーは甘党多いから辛いですね！", which is literally "since a lot of the members prefer sweet tastes it's [spicy]/[difficult]!"; "spicy" and "difficult" are both written as 辛い so it's anyone's guess as to which one tsumugi meant
so my Incredibly Witty solution was to take the phrase "being put under the heat" (altho in hindsight "being in the hot seat" probably also would have worked) with the double meaning of "being under negative pressure" and "eating lots of spicy foods", please laugh at this, please appreciate how much I have toiled for the sake of this pun, only actually don't, never talk to me about this pun ever
only then souGO UPS THE ANTE by answering with "うまいな", which can either mean "tastes good" or "that's skillful"; so basically he's answering both the 'spicy' meaning with "spicy foods are great" & the 'that's a cool pun' meaning with "you're so skilled at puns manager" and I
I gave up so I just went with the second meaning
