2. talking about expense reports is one of those small details that I really love about idolish7..... btw the reason tsumugi sends all of this information to sougo is because sougo is pretty much acting as mezzo's manager because tsumugi has to stick w/ the rest of idolish7, which also plays into the whole "wow mezzo is being worked to death" thing!
3. I almost started crying when sougo's response to "think of us as family" was "I'm terribly sorry for all of the burden I've caused" like oh my GOD how strict was your family even for this to be how you speak to them!!!! IDK I just feel like it's very telling of like deep seated conditioning or however you wanna call it if sougo instantly takes the stiff and apologetic angle the moment he thinks of "how would I speak to my family"

(this is the chat I was reading last night where I started crying into my food LOL)
4. sougo has this very unfortunate habit of saying そうだね (lit. "yes you're right/that's right") only he uses it not to mean "yes that's right", but to instead mean "yes let me think" or "yes now that you mention it"
5. for the first dialogue path, it's a bit tricky to translate succinctly (what I put w/ being pushed too hard is the general gist of it), but the longer version is that tsumugi is basically asking if they (takanashi pro./etc.) aren't asking for too much/being unreasonable wrt mezzo, and are thus causing them to have to push themselves too hard. there's more of a sense of "am I expecting too much out of you/pushing you too hard" sort of sense to tsumugi's words, which is probably hence why sougo turns it around and makes it about how he's concerned about her!
6. tamaki's line about wanting to get on well w/ sougo comes from his unit chats iirc!
7. わがまま might be one of my favorite japanese words but it is one of my least favorite words to translate. in this case tsumugi says 'わがままを言う', which is literally like "say something selfish", I worded it as 'voice' instead so that it doesn't sound so much like "please pull something selfish out of a hat and say it" and more like "please say it when you are feeling selfish"
8. I thought I'd broken my awkward habit of switching to third person whenever I translate things but apparently not! "everyone likes the gentle sougo-san" is Definitely Not Good English, but since in this case I didn't want to separate "gentle" and "sougo" (i.e., "everyone likes how gentle you are" or "everyone likes you for being gentle") because it's less that people specifically like sougo's gentle/kind quality, and more that they like the sougo who is kind.
I'm trying to decide if "Everyone, they're very fond of the Sogo-san who is gentle" would be better english or not but in the meantime
the point is that if I separate 'gentle' and 'sougo' and add in a "for" or "how", it makes it less about the gentleness being a solid constant in how sougo presents as a person, and instead it becomes "people like you when you're nice", which isn't what tsumugi is tryin' to say here
9. a lot of tamaki's complaints about sougo ultimately boil down to "I want him to be more selfish" and it's got me looking at the sky and shedding tears over how tamaki yotsuba is such a good kid

"please forgive me if I ever beckon trouble onto you" [falls out of my chair crying]
it's also possible that rather than meant as a fight or flight response on sougo's end, his reaction to "family" being mentioned is actually one where he's being reminded that his father Hates Music and Has A Lot Of Influence; there's an instance iirc in the main story where mezzo" loses a sponsor because of sougo's dad's company?? or something like that. so when he talks about being resolved to deal with it when it happens, it could have to do with how sougo immediately tries to drop out of idolish7 once he realises his father is (being a big baby and) making it difficult for i7 to succeed.
which makes the card's skill name being "Is it really okay for me to stay here...." even sadder ow [falls out of my chair again] (it's a line from the chapter where he tries to drop out!)
