1. oh my god it's been so long since I've coded for dialogue paths, do I even remember how to do this properly LOL
2. iori also refers to the player as firstname-manager in this chat (both times he says 'manager' it had her name in japanese!) and "should I really not have been transcribing this properly all along" is rapidly climbing the ranks of my executive regrets. soon it will overtake "I wish I'd been writing 'sougo' instead of 'sogo' this entire time"
3. every day I ask myself how to translate っs when they're being used as expressions/for emphasis rather than as actual parts of words. the way I read it is kind of like an inhalation of breath or a pause, so ", ..." is the best way I can think of to convey that but it sure looks strange to think of someone writing ", ..." in a text message!
4. iori's tsun levels are at an all time high in these early chats and I have to ask myself why did any character ever refer to him as being calm and collected. anyways, the burden iori references is a 迷惑 and that is another one of those words with like? 50 connotations? in general it basically carries the meaning of being a Huge Pain To Deal With That Has Been Placed On You By Someone Else And You're Very Bitter About Having To Deal With This Huge Pain
so it's less like iori's saying that he's concerned about tsumugi getting depressed and more like he's saying if I have to deal with you being depressed I might scream (or just sigh loudly, would probably be more along the lines of his character....)
5. iori says he can't remember the name of every small animal and I'm just like son how many other small animals ARE there
6. "I'm bad with animals" "I don't have any interest in small animals" [SSR card is iori gazing lovingly at a cat] where is the LIE
7. iori refers to kinako as being もふもふ and while the simplest way to translate it is "fluffy", it has the longer meaning of "being soft to the touch" so basically how long did you spend petting kinako after catching her, iori.....
