IORI IZUMI / ORDINARY DAYS : PART 1
Dec. 13th, 2015 01:53 pm【IORI】: Please wait a moment, manager.
【IORI】: Is that all there was? Anything else?
【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san, thank you for all of your hard work today!
【IORI】: Yes, well, thank you.
【TSUMUGI】: U, uumm, there was something I wished to contact you about regarding next week's schedule, but
【TSUMUGI】: Could it be that you were busy...?
I'll check back later...!
【IORI】: What is it, has anyone said anything like that.
【IORI】: Please share the schedule. It's an important thing, after all
【TSUMUGI】: P, Please excuse me!
This is regarding next week's recording, but please gather at the office at 11 AM
【IORI】: Understood.
【TSUMUGI】: Yes! Then, talk to you later...!
【IORI】: Please wait a moment, manager.
【IORI】: Is that all there was? Anything else?
【TSUMUGI】: Eh? Yes... There isn't anything else in particular...
Everything else is still according to the plan I've conveyed a few days ago!
【IORI】: Is that so, I understand. Then it's fine.
【TSUMUGI】: Was there something?
【IORI】: No... Not really.
Then, see you tomorrow.
【TSUMUGI】: Y, yes!

t/n:
1. the whiplash between going from the very most recent CD chats to the very first ordinary days chats is real! please keep in mind (and this applies to all of the early chats, so the outdoor fest/summer memories ones too to a certain extent!) that some characters are being characterized Very Differently between their very early rabbit chats and their more recent ones. so when you're reading these chats, please try to keep in mind the chronology of when they were written, and take that into consideration when you're thinking about how the characters are being characterized!
thank you!
2. I have a lot to say about this topic (sorry iori you're first in line so you get the brunt of my rant in your t/l notes) but tl;dr I 100% believe that the way the rabbit chat scenario writers are characterizing their characters has changed since the game was first released! I wouldn't quite call it "character development" (although I haven't gone through all of the chats comprehensively enough to really nail down points where characters would be developing so I could be missing something) as much as I'd call it a change in marketing/appeal? FOR EXAMPLE these early ordinary days and summer memories chats have a much stronger 1 on 1 emphasis between the player and the character, so pretty much every boy's card has them asking tsumugi/the player out on a date at some point LOL
it's not that later chats completely lose these elements (lookin @ u, halloween ch. 5s), but to me it definitely feels like there's a shift in writing direction from "player & character" to "character & character". I'm sorry I know y'all are here for my *flips hair* hilarious commentary not my unnecessary marketing analysis, but..... anyways, you could be a cynic like me and call it a shift from appealing to otoge fans to appealing to BL fans (if you think about it in terms of the early chats being written before the game was released and the later chats being written post-release and with all of the reception the game received in mind, then to me it makes sense that the writers would adjust their approach accordingly), or you could be more optimistic and look at it as a natural change in style over time (sort of like how if you read some of my earlier translations it's like Did The Same Person Even Write This), or just something that came about from branching out into addressing character & character interactions!
basically tl;dr whenever people say idolish7 doesn't have any otome game elements I squint really hard but then I remember that you only really see characters being obviously into the player in the really early chats
3. on an actual translation note topic it is too early in the morning for iori izumi to be saying はあ at me. luckily tsumugi is recoiling just as much as I am because I forgot how harsh iori is in his early chats LOL
4. this another one of those chats where iori calls the player 'tsumugi-manager' and I'm still questioning my decision to not transcribe that in my translations but here we are
5. these chats are so short I hardly have anything to say about them translation-wise, but! there's lots of weird conversation mechanisms being used in this chat and so if it reads a bit awkwardly, that.... would be why
