Thanks to that, they're now making an appearance at Black or White, and have been given the chance to challenge the TRIGGER they so admired!

1. DONE WITH THE CD CHATS!!!!! actually I'm typing this before I've even started translating, but, y'know, if you're reading this then that means I've finished translating the CD chats. only 2 per card this time!
2. while this chat picks up where mongen part 2 left off, I feel like it's meant to be implied that there's.... conversation happening between the end of that chat and the beginning of this one.... anyways I'll try to explain the different conversations as best I can as I go through them!
3. gaku and yamato are referencing a 都築 and I have 0 memory of seeing that character mentioned within part 1 of the story but seeing as it's someone gaku is referring to as -san, my guess is it's a director or producer type of character? anyways I googled the name to figure out how to read it and I came back with "tsuzuki", so that's what I'm going with!
I've left the pronoun as 'they' for now since it's not stated outright in japanese!
4. I've been staring at yamato's "若干あるとちゃんに引かれてた" line for the past hour and I still am not any closer to understanding what it's supposed to mean, so I took a few guesses based on context and gaku's reply and rolled with it
5. iori's response and refusal towards ten might read a bit strangely (also it was hard to fit into my translation but ten uses the somewhat polite-ish way of ending his request w/ だけど rather than just saying it bluntly or rudely), but basically ten is saying he "has something to talk about" and iori is replying by saying "I have nothing to talk about with you"
6. in my time of need tsumugi takanashi once again confirms that she is truly the ideal self insert, struggling to keep up with the log, interjecting and being like "please I'm trying to backscroll" "I finished backscrolling BUT NOW THE CONVERSATION IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT"
7. when tsumugi talks about the conversation, I think that she's basically saying "I get the feeling there are 100 different conversations going on at once and people are randomly interjecting into other peoples' conversations whenever they feel like it" and p much that is what is going on!
8. there are one million and one misunderstandings in this chat and the first one starts with the word 強引; even though gaku and yamato are having their own conversation about tsuzuki, gaku probably saw the word "overbearing" in mitsuki's line and was like "speaking of overbearing people, this tsuzuki sure is one"
9. also, please keep in mind that even though there's a sequence to the messages both in the rabbit chat itself and on this translation, some of these messages could be being sent simultaneously, like there's only a split second difference on the timestamps or something!
I know, it's confusing, I'm crying too
10. the main conversation groups at first are yamato↔gaku, mitsuki→iori↔ten←riku, ryuu↔nagi, sougo↔tamaki→ryuu, as far as I can tell! I'll keep trying to explain as I go along but it's a total mess LOL
11. "why would nagi rokuya know the japanese word for ophthalmologist" five times out of ten if I translate something strangely it's because it makes me laugh. the other five times it's because I genuinely have no idea
12. 余計 is another one of those words that has a lot of connotations (it's the word sougo says to tamaki to not do anything more of), but it basically means excessive & unnecessary & generally unwanted! so in this case sougo is using 余計 to refer to tamaki's actions because from sougo's pov tamaki is only making the situation worse by trying to offer to mediate (his attempt at mediation = asking ryuu to buy them food, btw!)
I think tamaki is bristling because from his pov sougo is being a.) unreasonable and b.) vague and unhelpful? like calling it 余計 can definitely read as sougo being dismissive of tamaki and so I think that's the general feeling that's causing tamaki's anger to spike?
but then I think mitsuki sees the angry stamp and thinks that ten is the one getting angry? misunderstanding (conversation overlap) number two rears its ugly head
13. mitsuki and ten are consistently referring to each other w/ second person pronouns and it's making me sad watching these oniichans go at it in attempts to protect their younger brothers
14. jk mitsuki just called ten an aho and I kinda wonder if I should be translating it as 'you ass'
I translated it as you ass so now iori's embarrassed "nii-san...." looks less like he's flattered mitsuki is defending him and more like he's concerned because mitsuki is making the chat rating pg-13
15. sougo says "とんでもないです" and translating it as preposterous made me laugh really hard because sougo's already practically wearing a top hat in his icon for this chat so all I have to do is draw a monocle in ms paint and suddenly he's the monopoly man
so I changed it to absolutely not and I'm doing a bit better now
16. the word for staggering drunkards is apparently a synonym for large tigers and gaku used the counter for animals so I was really confused until I realized that he was likening the raging drunkards to a pack of animals he had to handle
17. mitsuki needs to stop reading the conversation from only looking at stamps
18. oddly enough iori and mitsuki both used plural second person pronouns so I guess they're both including riku in the "you have no right to call us brocons" statement even though ten's the only one who said it
19. ryuu can feel his heart beating and I can feel ryuu falling for nagi
20. the reason ryuu says he's been jilted/dumped is probably because sougo was like please forget that this just happened 0.5 seconds after ryuu agreed to treat them to a meal, and he only just realized that was a thing that happened because he was so preoccupied with nagi rokuya's eye color
oh my god I'm at 20 translation notes and I'm not even halfway down the scrollbar
21. riku mentioning beer threw me off really bad because at first I thought riku was jumping onto the tamaki/sougo/ryuu conversation and being like "if you're going to treat us, yamato-san will ask for beer?" but then I realized no riku and yamato are still at the kaitenzushi place and yamato probably just ordered a beer
translating this chat is making me contemplate it too
22. I can't believe sougo and nagi are still out in the snow

I had a conversation about the conveyor belt sushi thing on twitter, and finally the colored plates got mentioned.... basically the color has something to do w/ the price, and so now yamato has finally reached his limit (since he's getting drunk) and begun to complain about riku bankrupting him by only eating off of colored plates
24. mitsuki calling yamato an ossan is giving me war flashbacks to the summer memories cards that I still have yet to translate
25. okay SO the thing with the poaching is an actual thing that happened in the story where yaotome sr. tried to get tamaki and sougo to defect and debut under yaotome productions (it was part of his attempt to crush idolish7 in the early parts of the story so whether or not he really would have let them debut and be successful is another question and bucket of worms), tamaki got lured by his promises to let them be on TV but sougo kept insisting that they not defect, (which is why even after the accident at mufest takanashi sr. let tamaki and sougo debut ahead of time), and so mezzo stayed a part of idolish7
the thing that makes this complicated is that I think tsumugi is trying to hide the fact that yaotome productions actually tried to headhunt another office's talent by saying that it was just a joke, they were theorizing, it wasn't actually a thing that happened — this is probably for the same reasons that mitsuki freaked out over tamaki bringing it up —, since it's something that was done by TRIGGER's office, mentioning it to them is first of all a huge confidentiality breach, and second of all shit morale for TRIGGER? so tsumugi is trying to smooth it over by explaining it in a way that takes yaotome sr.'s actions out of the story and makes it into a silly daydream on idolish7's part.
I know that now but when I was first reading it I was like why are there so many quoting particles and why is she calling it a joke
26. the worst thing about having 26 translation notes is that I have to scroll all the way down to get to the bottom of my translation notes to make a comment, and then I have to scroll all the way back up to go back to actually translating things
anyways, *clutches my heart in pain* mezzo"
27. ten uses another 2nd person plural pronoun when he says "it would have been rude to you", so he's including someone in addition to iori, which pretty much confirms he was thinking of contacting iori for riku's sake?
meanwhile I am just like iori this all could have been solved if you'd let him talk to you in a private window
as excessive as riku's brocon tunnel vision is, iori's anti-brocon tunnel vision is pretty impressive!
28. I swear to god this chat reads like an epic poem like it goes through all of the stages of conflict and the plot becoming more and more complicated until it reaches the boiling point and then there is the denouement and everything becomes that much more relaxing as all of the conflict is resolved
hopefully it's not as exhausting to read as it was to translate!

1. DONE WITH THE CD CHATS!!!!! actually I'm typing this before I've even started translating, but, y'know, if you're reading this then that means I've finished translating the CD chats. only 2 per card this time!
2. while this chat picks up where mongen part 2 left off, I feel like it's meant to be implied that there's.... conversation happening between the end of that chat and the beginning of this one.... anyways I'll try to explain the different conversations as best I can as I go through them!
3. gaku and yamato are referencing a 都築 and I have 0 memory of seeing that character mentioned within part 1 of the story but seeing as it's someone gaku is referring to as -san, my guess is it's a director or producer type of character? anyways I googled the name to figure out how to read it and I came back with "tsuzuki", so that's what I'm going with!
I've left the pronoun as 'they' for now since it's not stated outright in japanese!
4. I've been staring at yamato's "若干あるとちゃんに引かれてた" line for the past hour and I still am not any closer to understanding what it's supposed to mean, so I took a few guesses based on context and gaku's reply and rolled with it
5. iori's response and refusal towards ten might read a bit strangely (also it was hard to fit into my translation but ten uses the somewhat polite-ish way of ending his request w/ だけど rather than just saying it bluntly or rudely), but basically ten is saying he "has something to talk about" and iori is replying by saying "I have nothing to talk about with you"
6. in my time of need tsumugi takanashi once again confirms that she is truly the ideal self insert, struggling to keep up with the log, interjecting and being like "please I'm trying to backscroll" "I finished backscrolling BUT NOW THE CONVERSATION IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT"
7. when tsumugi talks about the conversation, I think that she's basically saying "I get the feeling there are 100 different conversations going on at once and people are randomly interjecting into other peoples' conversations whenever they feel like it" and p much that is what is going on!
8. there are one million and one misunderstandings in this chat and the first one starts with the word 強引; even though gaku and yamato are having their own conversation about tsuzuki, gaku probably saw the word "overbearing" in mitsuki's line and was like "speaking of overbearing people, this tsuzuki sure is one"
9. also, please keep in mind that even though there's a sequence to the messages both in the rabbit chat itself and on this translation, some of these messages could be being sent simultaneously, like there's only a split second difference on the timestamps or something!
I know, it's confusing, I'm crying too
10. the main conversation groups at first are yamato↔gaku, mitsuki→iori↔ten←riku, ryuu↔nagi, sougo↔tamaki→ryuu, as far as I can tell! I'll keep trying to explain as I go along but it's a total mess LOL
11. "why would nagi rokuya know the japanese word for ophthalmologist" five times out of ten if I translate something strangely it's because it makes me laugh. the other five times it's because I genuinely have no idea
12. 余計 is another one of those words that has a lot of connotations (it's the word sougo says to tamaki to not do anything more of), but it basically means excessive & unnecessary & generally unwanted! so in this case sougo is using 余計 to refer to tamaki's actions because from sougo's pov tamaki is only making the situation worse by trying to offer to mediate (his attempt at mediation = asking ryuu to buy them food, btw!)
I think tamaki is bristling because from his pov sougo is being a.) unreasonable and b.) vague and unhelpful? like calling it 余計 can definitely read as sougo being dismissive of tamaki and so I think that's the general feeling that's causing tamaki's anger to spike?
but then I think mitsuki sees the angry stamp and thinks that ten is the one getting angry? misunderstanding (conversation overlap) number two rears its ugly head
13. mitsuki and ten are consistently referring to each other w/ second person pronouns and it's making me sad watching these oniichans go at it in attempts to protect their younger brothers
14. jk mitsuki just called ten an aho and I kinda wonder if I should be translating it as 'you ass'
I translated it as you ass so now iori's embarrassed "nii-san...." looks less like he's flattered mitsuki is defending him and more like he's concerned because mitsuki is making the chat rating pg-13
15. sougo says "とんでもないです" and translating it as preposterous made me laugh really hard because sougo's already practically wearing a top hat in his icon for this chat so all I have to do is draw a monocle in ms paint and suddenly he's the monopoly man
so I changed it to absolutely not and I'm doing a bit better now
16. the word for staggering drunkards is apparently a synonym for large tigers and gaku used the counter for animals so I was really confused until I realized that he was likening the raging drunkards to a pack of animals he had to handle
17. mitsuki needs to stop reading the conversation from only looking at stamps
18. oddly enough iori and mitsuki both used plural second person pronouns so I guess they're both including riku in the "you have no right to call us brocons" statement even though ten's the only one who said it
19. ryuu can feel his heart beating and I can feel ryuu falling for nagi
20. the reason ryuu says he's been jilted/dumped is probably because sougo was like please forget that this just happened 0.5 seconds after ryuu agreed to treat them to a meal, and he only just realized that was a thing that happened because he was so preoccupied with nagi rokuya's eye color
oh my god I'm at 20 translation notes and I'm not even halfway down the scrollbar
21. riku mentioning beer threw me off really bad because at first I thought riku was jumping onto the tamaki/sougo/ryuu conversation and being like "if you're going to treat us, yamato-san will ask for beer?" but then I realized no riku and yamato are still at the kaitenzushi place and yamato probably just ordered a beer
translating this chat is making me contemplate it too
22. I can't believe sougo and nagi are still out in the snow
23. I had a conversation about the conveyor belt sushi thing on twitter, and finally the colored plates got mentioned.... basically the color has something to do w/ the price, and so now yamato has finally reached his limit (since he's getting drunk) and begun to complain about riku bankrupting him by only eating off of colored plates
24. mitsuki calling yamato an ossan is giving me war flashbacks to the summer memories cards that I still have yet to translate
25. okay SO the thing with the poaching is an actual thing that happened in the story where yaotome sr. tried to get tamaki and sougo to defect and debut under yaotome productions (it was part of his attempt to crush idolish7 in the early parts of the story so whether or not he really would have let them debut and be successful is another question and bucket of worms), tamaki got lured by his promises to let them be on TV but sougo kept insisting that they not defect, (which is why even after the accident at mufest takanashi sr. let tamaki and sougo debut ahead of time), and so mezzo stayed a part of idolish7
the thing that makes this complicated is that I think tsumugi is trying to hide the fact that yaotome productions actually tried to headhunt another office's talent by saying that it was just a joke, they were theorizing, it wasn't actually a thing that happened — this is probably for the same reasons that mitsuki freaked out over tamaki bringing it up —, since it's something that was done by TRIGGER's office, mentioning it to them is first of all a huge confidentiality breach, and second of all shit morale for TRIGGER? so tsumugi is trying to smooth it over by explaining it in a way that takes yaotome sr.'s actions out of the story and makes it into a silly daydream on idolish7's part.
I know that now but when I was first reading it I was like why are there so many quoting particles and why is she calling it a joke
26. the worst thing about having 26 translation notes is that I have to scroll all the way down to get to the bottom of my translation notes to make a comment, and then I have to scroll all the way back up to go back to actually translating things

27. ten uses another 2nd person plural pronoun when he says "it would have been rude to you", so he's including someone in addition to iori, which pretty much confirms he was thinking of contacting iori for riku's sake?
meanwhile I am just like iori this all could have been solved if you'd let him talk to you in a private window
as excessive as riku's brocon tunnel vision is, iori's anti-brocon tunnel vision is pretty impressive!
28. I swear to god this chat reads like an epic poem like it goes through all of the stages of conflict and the plot becoming more and more complicated until it reaches the boiling point and then there is the denouement and everything becomes that much more relaxing as all of the conflict is resolved
hopefully it's not as exhausting to read as it was to translate!
