I thought Tama's basketball scene would definitely go over, but everything got settled with that three point shot.

2. yamato refers to tamaki's "3p shoot" as settling the match in a single blow/shot, and I have no idea what that means so here I am, googling "basketball moves" in both english and japanese to try to figure how to translate this.
apparently "P" is short for "point"!
3. googling sports terms was only a test to prepare me for the horror of trying to translate だじゃれ. ok so in japanese yamato says "that guy, he's [tama ni] (meaning on occasion) got it" — so it's a homophone w/ "tama" (how yamato normally calls tamaki), hence why tsumugi interprets it as a dual meaning of both "sometimes" and "tamaki yotsuba", making my life 10x more difficult over the course of five characters. naisu gyagu
I hate translating puns!!!! sticks 1000 translation notes on it and calls it a day!! I thought about a few different ways of how I could try to translate the pun but all of them felt Very Silly, hence why I'm making a note of it down here and leaving it as very unhelpful in my translation......

yamato's line in the first path is actually kinda interesting to me though because it's like? he's saying that tamaki has instinctually picked up on the fact that he (yamato nikaido) isn't a nice person, and it's not phrased with any accusation or responsibility on tamaki?
like, if it were phrased as "somehow he's gotten the impression that I'm not a nice person", then that would have been yamato's way of basically covering for himself and being like "even though tama doesn't think I'm a nice person, the possibility that I am actually a nice person still exists". but instead yamato says that tamaki's picked up on it via his instincts, so he's basically.... all but confirming that he isn't (or doesn't think of himself as) a nice person, and that tamaki's on the right track.
I know I complain about yamato's antics a lot but he's actually got a lot of self-loathing tbh? it's kind of sad....... he covers it up by being like "nah I just can't be assed to be a good person" but even that blunt honesty about his own faults is kinda........... yamasan how jaded are you even
