1. nagi consistently calls tsumugi (or the player) by her first name within the main story (although it gets dubbed over w/ anata or manager usually) but in the rabbit chats he randomly switches between first name yobisute and calling her manager
2. sometimes I think about just leaving "dokidoki" in the content of a rabbit chat because it always feels so awkward to translate?
for the record, nagi uses "wwww"!
3. I stopped translating this chat partway through partially to cry over peoples' kindness on twitter, and partially to riddle over what "ほんわかしています" means.... at first I thought maybe it was a typo for "half-baked", but apparently it is actually a word meaning either "warm and snug" or "soft and comfortable", which....... is not particularly enlightening as to why exactly tsumugi is using it to contrast with riku's apparent(?) interest in girls. I think maybe it's meant to mean naivety?, so that's the implication I eventually wound up rolling with
4. I can't believe the same nagi who produces jokes that are funny enough to cause problems with riku's condition gave sougo the dieting joke but then I wonder if riku would find the dieting joke to be genuinely funny
are nagi's jokes that hilarious or does riku have a really strange sense of humor? only time will tell
5. at the end, tsumugi says that the members and fans daisuki riku and nagi, and nagi replies back with wanting to hear the aishiteru phrase from tsumugi — since daisuki normally gets translated as love, that distinction might've gotten lost in english, so I changed daisuki to very likeable!
6. why is it so hard to write "you two's charming aspects" in english and make it look legible tho
7. nagi says he teaches riku what a 女性との語らい is, which can either mean something so innocent as "this is how to chat with girls" or else what I translated it as: "this is how to form a lover's vow with a woman"
the latter seemed much more nagi-esque so I went with it
his sentence structure itself might look a bit strange (it took me a while to figure out in japanese), but basically he's giving examples of what sort of experiences riku lacks, and thus what he's teaching him: so basically nagi is trying to show riku what it means to be a true anime fan
please protect riku nanase
is this why he was the only one who wasn't wtf at the edits nagi made for ainana gakuen
