【TSUMUGI】： Because "Star Camp" was originally an audition programme, with the theme of the instant a star is scouted, I've heard that they'll be requesting comments from a few participants in between live shows.
【TSUMUGI】： If the content is interesting enough, IDOLiSH7 might also be brought into the conversation!
【TSUMUGI】： Would it be alright if I asked you about the time when you were scouted, Yamato-san?
【YAMATO】： In my case, rather than being scouted, it was more like I was introduced by an acquaintance.

There was someone who'd been constantly calling out to me, and under the airs of acting as that person's backer, the president showed up.
【TSUMUGI】： In order to persuade you, Yamato-san?
【YAMATO】： Right, right.
Despite that, somehow it wound up that I'd be entering Takanashi Productions.
【TSUMUGI】： That would be a usurpation........
【YAMATO】： Well, that's true.........
The guy who was supposed to play the role of the best friend and say "This fellow, he's really a good guy so you should date him" basically wound up stealing the girlfriend in this scenario.........
【YAMATO】： Sorry. It doesn't seem like content you can really use.
【TSUMUGI】： Not at all!
It was very fun to hear the secret story about when you were scouted, Yamato-san!

1. I made it about 9/10ths of the way through this chat without writing a single translation note? I'm slacking real hard
2. but then yamato made himself the girlfriend who got swept away by the president in the scenario and I couldn't stop laughing
that sentence itself was kind of tricky to translate fluidly, but basically the general feeling of it is that you have the wingman who's SUPPOSED to (who PROMISED to) play the best friend sidekick and hype up the one guy to the girl he likes, but then said wingman winds up sweeping the girlfriend off her feet and running off with her
please tell me I'm not the only one losing it over yamato coming up with this scenario and placing himself as the girlfriend (it's ok, I know I'm probably the only one who finds this funny)
3. I guess the real reason I didn't have much to say translation wise about this chat is because I tried pretty hard to follow the string of events regarding yamato's ''scouting'' as literally as possible, and for the most part I was able to follow it sequentially? so there wasn't much for me to be like "ok, I'm not too certain about this part, but"
4. tsumugi was actually the most brutal to takanashi sr. all along she's just like "he's just an ojisan as far as I'm concerned........"
it's not quite as brutal as calling him an ossan but it's. [tsumugi voice] he's literally just this random old guy
5. very nearly wrote yamato's "uuuun" as "Groan."
this 22 year old man thinks about the stuff he doesn't want to talk about and types out "Groan."
