leopardeyes【MITSUKI】： ........ is what I'd thought, but somehow that guy's been working really hard at playing the cool guy!
【TSUMUGI】： Mitsuki-san, thank you for all of your hard work!
【TSUMUGI】： The scene where you, the home economics teacher, witnessed Tamaki-san picking up a lost puppy on a rainy day, and quietly lent him your umbrella, was incredibly emotional!
【MITSUKI】： Thanks!
I've been gradually becoming more and more at home with playing the heroine's part!!
【MITSUKI】： But still, so Tamaki's in the role of a nihilistic and cool senpai, huh.
If all you look at is his face then it makes sense, but won't the rest of it be impossible for him?
【MITSUKI】： ........ is what I'd thought, but somehow that guy's been working really hard at playing the cool guy!
【TSUMUGI】： I know, right! Of course, this applies to everyone else as well, but for Tamaki-san to act so well up to this point was very unexpected!
【MITSUKI】： Right—! I'll have to be sure to praise him a bit!
【MITSUKI】：
【TSUMUGI】： Mitsuki-san, what are things normally like for you and Tamaki-san?
【MITSUKI】： They're pretty much normal.
Once he learned that I can make cakes, I guess he's started coming to my room immediately whenever he's hungry.
【MITSUKI】： After I taught him "those who don't work don't eat!", in exchange for my making him something, I have him wash a pair of my shoes.
【TSUMUGI】： How cute!
【MITSUKI】： Is it really cute? Well, I guess you'd call it give and take?
【MITSUKI】： Iori hardly ever depended on me, so having someone come and depend on me isn't a bad feeling, I guess!
【MITSUKI】： Well—, if you put it into one word, ours is a connection that's bound together by food!
【TSUMUGI】： Your cakes are very delicious, after all, Mitsuki-san!
【MITSUKI】：
【TSUMUGI】： What do you make for him?
【MITSUKI】： He gets really fussy with how he'll repeat I'm hungry— I'm hungry— I'm hungry—, so in order to get him to stop crying, I can't really take that much time in making things, can I?
【MITSUKI】： That's why, rather than cakes that take a lot of labor, I guess I tend to make pancakes or donuts more often.
【MITSUKI】： He might be willing to wait patiently for the time it takes pudding to steam, though.
【MITSUKI】： I've long since mastered the caramel sauce he loves so much.
【MITSUKI】： Well—, if you put it into one word, ours is a connection that's bound together by food!
【TSUMUGI】： Your cakes are very delicious, after all, Mitsuki-san!

【TSUMUGI】： The two of you are very compatible!
【MITSUKI】： I looked after my underclassmen at school, and looked after the part-timers at the store, after all!
【MITSUKI】： I think that people like Tamaki who get angry vigorously, but are quick to end things, have it right.
【MITSUKI】： Sogo's a kind person, so he tries to talk as well as listen, but then his lectures get really long and Tamaki ends up getting impatient, too—.
【MITSUKI】： Well, I think Tamaki's still in the wrong, though?
【MITSUKI】： Well—, if you put it into one word, ours is a connection that's bound together by food!

1. basically what mitsuki is saying that tamaki's face/appearance/general facial expressions fit the nihilistic and cool (calm/collected/cold kind of cool) senpai impression, but then he opens his mouth and the petnames start flying, and he starts shoveling ousama pudding, and,
the point is that mitsuki is saying that tamaki can't act (or so he thought)
2. my new years' request is for the grownup group to stop putting tamaki to work on trivial errands but then I remember riku has him get things from high shelves for him too
3. I'm not sure exactly why mitsuki responds by pointing out that he's good at looking after people in response to tsumugi complimenting their compatibility, but I'm guessing that mitsuki's point is that he's good at looking after younger people, or knowing how to get the people around him to exert themselves? (i.e., directing around part timers at the family shop) — so, he's good at getting tamaki to exert himself by doing something in exchange for having food made for him, and so they have a largely harmonious relationship? or something
4. mitsuki uses onomatopoeia to describe tamaki but basically what he's trying to say is that tamaki can get REALLY ANGRY but then he pretty much drops it once it's over and done with
5. when mitsuki talks about iori not depending on him, he uses '甘えて' — basically, it's kind of like the needy/clingy sort of behavior that's illustrated by tamaki showing up at mitsuki's door being like "I'm hungry I'm hungry I'm hungry" that mitsuki's saying he never got from iori, and so doesn't really mind having the chance to look after someone like he does tamaki
