【GAKU】: It's a difficult thing, being an idol.
If possible, you'd want to match up to everyone's expectations.

【TSUMUGI】: Gaku-san, thank you very much for today.
【TSUMUGI】: Thanks to you, Gaku-san, I was able to have a wonderful encounter, and I learned a lot from everything I heard!

【GAKU】: Thanks for your hard work. If it came in handy then I'm glad.

【TSUMUGI】: The time that you spent speaking with the stage director was also incredibly beneficial, Gaku-san.

Your seriousness towards your work, as well as how greatly you valued your fans, was truly conveyed.....

【GAKU】: If you tell me that all over again I'll blush LOL
【GAKU】: In reality, there isn't such a thing as a guy who doesn't value his own fans.
【GAKU】: More than arguing with your coworkers, or being scolded by producers, it's thoughtless words from the fans that deal the most damage.
【GAKU】: Even at times when you're overwhelmed and want to give up, it's words of support or consolation that'll get you to stand back up.

【TSUMUGI】: It's the same for IDOLiSH7.
【TSUMUGI】: When the fans are pleased, it makes them happy, and at times when something happens to make the fans sad, they begin to feel such terrible guilt that I feel myself wanting to tell them that it's alright to not feel that depressed.
【TSUMUGI】: To not be understood, or to be met with thoughtless words and scorn, causes deep, deep wounds.

【GAKU】: It's a difficult thing, being an idol.
If possible, you'd want to match up to everyone's expectations.
【GAKU】: We want people to follow us no matter who they are, and we want the people who hate us to be able to acknowledge us,
But we still can't let ourselves lose our way and stop moving.
【GAKU】: All we can do is keep running forward with all of our strength down the road we see in front of us.

[2]: What was the happiest moment up until now?
[3]: Gaku-san, you're very cool.

【TSUMUGI】: What was the most painful moment up until now?

【GAKU】: The time when TRIGGER's popularity started to rise.
I was glad that everything was going well, but the backlash was larger for it.
【GAKU】: I didn't realize that being insulted by someone whose face you didn't even recognize could be that painful.
【GAKU】: The thing I'm most scared of is becoming a braggart.
The thought of taking the cheering for granted, and forgetting to be thankful scares me.
【GAKU】: Every day, it startles me.
Huh? Did I just turn into a bit more of a braggart, I wonder.

【TSUMUGI】: Gaku-san, you're definitely a person with a great deal of zeal and sincerity!
【TSUMUGI】: Things like your attitude being poor, or that TRIGGER's gotten full of themselves,
I can't say that I've never seen articles saying such things....
【TSUMUGI】: But, I've never once felt anything like that from you, Gaku-san.
No matter when, you're someone who clashes with things with all of your devotion.
【TSUMUGI】: Ah........ Please excuse me.
As someone from a different office, I said something so heedless.....

【GAKU】: I'm happy.
【GAKU】: I'm really happy. Thank you, Tsumugi.

【TSUMUGI】: What was the happiest moment up until now?

【GAKU】: When a kid who told us they were a fan of ours,
Said that they thought we were an incredible group,
【GAKU】: And that one day, they'd like to surpass us.
【GAKU】: The thing I'm most scared of is becoming a braggart.

t/n:

1. otsukaresama returns to haunt me with a vengeance. not only does gaku use a much more informal version, but it doesn't quite fit the general pattern that I've wrangled otsukaresama into matching in my translations up until now...... ...... but I decided to translate it the same way anyways

2. it's been a while since I touched gaku's rehearsal~showtime chats, so just to go over things: in the previous chapter, gaku invited tsumugi to come eat lunch/dinner with him and the producer who does TRIGGER's stage directions, because he'd heard that tsumugi was studying stage direction. so in this chat tsumugi is thanking him for having gotten to have that opportunity, and referring to things that (presumably) she would have heard during the meal!

3. I actually hadn't read this chat since I unlocked it many moons ago (like, sometime in september?? lol....) so reading it again after having just translated ryuu's third chapter is.... very upsetting....

trigger is a good family

4. I'm not really sure what どんな自分たち is meant to mean in gaku's line about wanting people to acknowledge them, so I.... kind of fudged the translation with the general impression I'm getting from his words — which is to say, he wants to please everyone/appeal to everyone, but it's not something that he can let himself get too hung up over in the long run.

5. ten uses them too but I'm pretty sure there is something incredibly illicit about members of yaotome productions using kinako (the mascot of takanashi productions) stamps

(tsumugi lit. calls him kakkoii for the record!)

6. technically gaku says that he's scared of becoming a tengu (rather than a braggart) and all I have to say to that is [mitsuki voice] is this a hyakki yagyou!?

7. uhhh it probably looks strange for tsumugi to be like, praising gaku by saying "you always crash into things with all of your sincere heart!!!", but I think that what she means is that gaku is the kind of person who does things wholeheartedly; the collision part is thus meant to support the wholehearted aspect of his personality, rather than the other way around.

basically what she's trying to say is that for all of the rumors and gossip about gaku having a bad attitude or being full of himself, she's only ever seen him as someone who's willing to, like, actively advocate for what he personally believes in? and that he's always sincere when he does?

people say that gaku's got it bad for tsumugi but I mean

8. I think that in dialogue path #2 there is? a 98% chance gaku is referring to idolish7? gaku is the number one idolish7 stan tbh......

eta: someone on twitter pointed out to me that he could also be referring to tsumugi, because she said once that she admired trigger and wanted them to stay strong so that one day idolish7 could surpass them!
