Your singing voice was in top condition! Everyone in the studio had very high praise for you!
【RIKU】： Really!? Wow, I'm glad!
Since it was a song with a different atmosphere from usual, I was feeling a bit nervous.
【RIKU】： Right now I'm at a coffee shop in front of the station with Sogo-san.
Manger, did you want to come, too?
【TSUMUGI】： Is that so?
【TSUMUGI】： After I give my regards to the people at the studio, I'll stop by.
【TSUMUGI】： Currently, I'm waiting for their meeting to end.
【TSUMUGI】： Riku-san, you and Sogo-san get along very well, don't you!
【RIKU】： Yeah!
He gives me a lot of good advice, and plays with me, too.
【RIKU】： Sogo-san's lined up to order for us right now.
【RIKU】： It looks like the woman lined up behind him might have realized who he is, though.....

My older brother was like that, too, so it makes me think of him.

【RIKU】： It's not that I find it difficult, but the way that sometimes he has a really lonely look on his face kinda worries me.
There are times when I think it'd be nice if only Sogo-san would talk about himself as often as I talk about myself.
【RIKU】： Ah, it looks like Sogo-san got found out.
I'm gonna go and throw him a lifeline real quick!
【TSUMUGI】： I, if you go out there, Riku-san, wouldn't it be counterproductive....?

1. riku says "wa-" and I think the last time I saw わー I translated it as 'wow', so I'm sticking with that for now. I wanted to leave it as Waah or something but then I wonder if maybe it looks like he's crying when it's more like he's an excited two year old
later, tsumugi would also say "wa-", but in two different contexts and....... I'm never sure how to translate onomatopoeia, really
2. riku be like *invites tsumugi to come hang out with him and sougo* NVM MANAGER WE GOT KICKED OUT OF THE SHOP!! MAYBE NEXT TIME!!
3. riku's chats are actually pretty interesting to me from a translation standpoint because he tends to use (what I'd perceive as—so I could be completely wrong!) a lot of kanji and advanced vocabulary when he talks, but he also has... that very cheerful, cute boy way of speaking? I think the kanji and advanced vocabulary comes from the fact that he reads a lot (he's mentioned that he knows a lot of kanji and even Model High School Student Iori was impressed), and the young and cheerful way of speaking comes from his age, but it's an interesting combination and I'm never sure how to properly convey it in english aside from cracking open the SAT vocab book
it's also kind of sad because in a sense it's almost like riku's speaking patterns are? not quite stunted, but slightly off-key — kind of like when you see seven year olds using ten dollar vocab words — but it's probably because of his limited social interactions growing up? even the fact that he read a lot when he was younger was because there wasn't much else he could do because of his illness
idolish7 is neat though because all of the characters have very distinctive speaking patterns that feel really cohesive in how they fit together w/ their personalities and backgrounds, I hope I can convey even just a fraction of that through my translations....!!
4. THE reason I went on about riku's speaking patterns is because when he talks about going to help sougo, it could just be "help him because he's in need", or literally "going to go throw him a life preserver" — since riku has that slightly off-kilter way of speaking, I decided to translate what he said a bit more literally in this case
since, I mean, he could have just as easily said "I'm going to go help him" rather than "I'm going to go provide help/a lifeboat to someone who is in need"
5. UHHH token kinda tricky word to translate for this chat is ずっと (I translated it as constantly), but when riku mentions sougo listening to him talk, the 'constantly' is meant to apply to it being pretty much all that gets done. if anything it should be "constantly listening to me talk", but I feel like that makes the already sort of negative connotations that come w/ constantly in this context a bit too strong....
basically the point is that sougo's a good listener! and reminds riku of ten, which is why iori comes in and says Please Stop Pampering The Broconinator
6. I mentioned this on twitter, but this entry marks 100 translations!!!! *pops confetti* I think that after this, I'm five chats away from 100 rabbit chats, too! very exciting..... I STILL HAVE LIKE 90 TO TRANSLATE but if I think of it that way, I'm over halfway through my content!
