【MITSUKI】： Even if he acts like that, I think Iori's trying to cheer you on.


【MITSUKI】： Manager, were you okay earlier?

【TSUMUGI】： Mitsuki-san, thank you for all of your hard work!
By "earlier", you mean...?

【MITSUKI】： You had some sort of sermon coming from Iori, didn't you?
Sorry about that? He's fussy, and isn't good with words. He's really a good guy, though.

【TSUMUGI】： That's not how it was at all!
I'm very grateful that I can always receive such helpful advice from him.

【MITSUKI】： Thanks!

【MITSUKI】： He can be hard to understand, and he's awkward, and kinda nosy.
When he sees someone working hard, he can't just leave them alone.
【MITSUKI】： That's the way it's been ever since I was a kid.
【MITSUKI】： Until I realized that he was just trying to cheer me on, we got into so many fights.

【TSUMUGI】： So you and Iori-san had brotherly quarrels, then!
【TSUMUGI】： Since the two of you get along so well, I can't even begin to imagine what sort of things you could have fought over...

I say that, but it was more like I'd get super mad, and just shut him down every time.
【MITSUKI】： I've always been aiming at becoming an idol, right?
【MITSUKI】： When I'd practice dancing and stuff, he'd come in from the side and start meddling.
【MITSUKI】： Saying it'd be better if you did this, or it'd be better if you did that.
【MITSUKI】： One day, I totally snapped and yelled, "Shut up—!"
【MITSUKI】： I told him that rather than meddling in other peoples' affairs, he should do his own thing.
【MITSUKI】： After all, unlike me, he's the kind of guy who can do anything.
【MITSUKI】： But after that, he had this horribly sad look on his face.
【MITSUKI】： That's when I understood.
What that guy wants to do is help other people.
【MITSUKI】： That's why, manager.
【MITSUKI】： Even if he acts like that, I think Iori's trying to cheer you on.
He's my foolish younger brother, but try not to hate him.

【TSUMUGI】： Of course!
【TSUMUGI】： Mitsuki-san, you really are a splendid older brother....!
【TSUMUGI】： I wish I could have had an older brother like you, too.

He won't ever say it himself. So I'd ask if he wanted to go shopping together, or something, and invite him out, and then we'd make up.

1. "why did you leave onii-chan in the title" Why do I do anything (answer: "Onii-chan Disposition" makes me laugh so I kept it). a better, more accurate title would probably be "big brotherly disposition", though!

2. I'm.... not sure why mitsuki is thanking tsumugi for saying that she's receiving advice from iori, either. it might be like, "glad to hear it!" rather than "thanks!"?

3. the izumi brothers are the most important, sorry, I don't make the rules

4. when mitsuki refers to iori as his foolish younger brother, I'm pretty sure he's doing the Humble Speech Patterns that you see in japanese — he's not actually trying to put iori down or anything, hence why tsumugi responds with "mitsuki-san you're such an amazing person". it probably seems a bit off-key for tsumugi to speak so highly of mitsuki after he's like "he is Unworthy, Incompetent, Foolish", but I promise it makes a bit more sense in japanese.... I thought about taking a few more liberties and phrasing it as like "he's a bit of a mess, but try not to hate him" — it's not necessarily any nicer a thing to say, but it's phrased in a much softer, less direct way.

also rather than "try not to hate him", mitsuki says something more like "try to go about without hating him", but I couldn't think of a smooth way to phrase that....
