【IORI】: I won't say thank you.
I never said that I wanted it, after all.
【IORI】: However, since you went to all the trouble, I'll be using them. I don't have any reason in particular not to, after all.

【IORI】: Manager, thank you for all of your hard work.

【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san, thank you for all of your hard work on the photoshoot!
【TSUMUGI】: I'm terribly sorry that there was so much time spent on standby, but it seems like everyone was able to spend it leisurely.

【IORI】: This is regarding the mineral waters distributed to us, but.

【TSUMUGI】: Did something happen?

【IORI】: A Roppu-chan magnet from that Usamimi-something or other set was attached to it.

【TSUMUGI】: Is that so!
【TSUMUGI】: While they were sold out within the city, it could be that there just so happened to be a few remaining in this area!

【IORI】: It wasn't just Roppu-chan. All of the types were attached.
【IORI】: A mineral water that just happens to have magnets of every type attached, probably wouldn't actually be sold anywhere.

[1]: It just so happened that way!
[2]: Actually.....
Ever since that day, I've been looking around everywhere and today, I finally completed the set.
There isn't any sort of deep meaning! It was just fun to collect them.
[3]: Do you not want it?

【TSUMUGI】: It just so happened that way!

【IORI】: ..... Well.
If you say that, I suppose it must have been a coincidence.
【IORI】: I won't say thank you.

【IORI】: However, since you went to all the trouble, I'll be using them. I don't have any reason in particular not to, after all.

【TSUMUGI】: Yes!

【IORI】: Incidentally, tonight, I heard there's an evening festival happening nearby.
What sort of things do you like from evening shops?

【TSUMUGI】: Eh?

【IORI】: What an obtuse person.
【IORI】: I'm inviting you to the festival, Tsumugi-san.

【TSUMUGI】: Actually.....

【IORI】: ......... Even though I didn't ask you to do anything like that.
【IORI】: I won't say thank you.
I never said that I wanted it, after all.

1. it definitely feels strange to translate summer memories chats when it's november but, well. I'm trying to clear out the cards where I've started translating chats — iori's card is only at lvl48 so it will probably be a while before his chapter 5 sees the light of day.....

anyways, it's been a while since I touched iori's summer memories set, so I'd recommend reading the first three parts if you haven't already! it'll probably make the events of this chat make a bit more sense, since the usamimi friends collection and the magnet drama was covered in the first chapter and referenced a few times later on, too!

2. iori opens the chat by referring to tsumugi as "tsumugi-manager" and I think I've already complained about how I feel like that looks strange in context, so I've just left it as "manager" in the translation itself!

3. in japanese it's pretty customary to open queries by ending the statement in a way that, as I've been translating, reads like "this is regarding ____ but." — sometimes I'll take out the 'but' if I think it still makes sense, but I feel like for as strange as it is to end a statement with "but." and have the other person respond immediately rather than waiting for the completion of the statement, it's stranger for iori to just say "this is regarding the mineral water."? like, it looks a bit harsher than I'd want it to, I think!

4. "obtuse" is one of the kinder translations I found for what it is that iori calls the player. even if it's very sweet of him to invite tsumugi on a date I can't say I feel happy about being called a dull-witted person when all iori said was, like, "lol what kind of food do you like from festivals", I'm sorry, we don't all speak tsundere as our native language son

5. I used to write the dialogue choices into the cut code rather than doing the 【1】/etc., and although I switched to my current format a while ago this chat reminds me that I am very thankful I made that decision sooner rather than later.............
