SOGO OSAKA / HALLOWEEN : PART 1
Oct. 30th, 2015 10:00 pm【TSUMUGI】: This time to match the song, we'll be building the costumes and MV using devils as the concept.
【SOGO】: I see. I'm looking forward to it.
The producing that you put together always has a good sense, manager.
【TSUMUGI】: Sogo-san, thank you for all of your hard work.
Have you had an opportunity to listen to IDOLiSH7's new song?
【SOGO】: Thanks for all of your hard work, manager. I took the chance to listen to it.
It's a cool song with a different genre from usual.
【TSUMUGI】: This time to match the song, we'll be building the costumes and MV using devils as the concept.
【SOGO】: I see. I'm looking forward to it.

【TSUMUGI】: Not at all!
【TSUMUGI】:
【TSUMUGI】: My studies are still very insufficient, and so even looking through documents takes time...
【SOGO】: It's really rough, huh.
When I entered this office and learned about the work that you, Ogami-san, and the others do, finding out just how many people were involved and how many stairs had to be climbed in order to bring a new song into this world, I was surprised.
【SOGO】: Unlike us where all we have to do is sing, from preparing in advance to handling public relations,
You're handling all of the direction, so I honestly think it's an incredible thing that you're doing.
Thanks for everything you've done.
【TSUMUGI】: Not at all!
It's something that I'm doing for everyone's sake, after all!
I'd originally wanted to pass over the documents earlier today, so I'm terribly sorry that it's this late.
【TSUMUGI】: So that I don't cause a burden for the customers or everyone else, I'd like to be completing the work in a more efficient manner, but today I couldn't finish until it got to be this late.
I'd like it if you could share your efficiency, Sogo-san.
【SOGO】: You're still at the office? This late at night?
【TSUMUGI】: Yes, although I'm about to return home!
【SOGO】: What about the president and Banri-san?
【TSUMUGI】: The president is at a reception tonight, and Ogami-san is on a business trip.
【SOGO】: It's dangerous, so I'll walk you home.
Can you kill a bit more time waiting at the office?
【TSUMUGI】: That's not any good!
【TSUMUGI】:
【TSUMUGI】: Even though you should be resting right now!
【SOGO】: I'll be worried if anything happens.
I'll head over right away, so wait for me.
【TSUMUGI】: But....
【SOGO】: It's alright, don't worry about it.
I was already planning on going to the convenience store.
It's on the way.
【TSUMUGI】: I see, so that was the case.
Then......., Please allow me to take you up on that offer.
Thank you very much!
【SOGO】: Not at all.

t/n:
1. "good sense" [pointed stare at mitsuki's cat ears]
2. I can't believe sougo is the resident Music Nerd (I've actually put off translating some of his chats because the music terminology and looking up some of the composers he names makes my head hurt LOL) but he didn't know how much effort it takes to produce a song. his game is so weak
3. originally sougo says "I honestly think that what you're doing is really rough" — and, I recently had a revelation regarding like some of the culture differences (that make otsukaresama so difficult to translate) between english-speaking cultures and japanese-speaking ones, and it's that I think that if I translated sougo's line literally, it'd almost sound like he was diminishing tsumugi's efforts? american culture especially tends to place a lot of emphasis on like "you make it look so easy" as a compliment, rather than "you make it look so difficult" being a compliment. nobody would feel complicated if they were told that. but the connotation in this case is the same, where sougo's saying that he's sure it must be really rough, and so it's impressive that tsumugi is handling all of it.
so I changed the wording and wrote a long-ass translation note about it!
4. why does sougo switch between calling banri by his first and last name, I'm pretty sure he calls him banri-san consistently in the story so I was really confused by how he referred to him as oogami-san in the first part of the chat LOL... it might be another typo?
speaking of typos, ....... it got fixed between when I read the chat for the first time and when I looked at it just now to translate it, so I guess the problem is gone LOL but there was a typo the first time I read the chat and I was really confused over whether it was a typo or me not knowing how to translate it, I think I posted about it on twitter...?
5. rather than "it's on the way", sougo says something that translates more like "since I'll be out anyways, it's convenient enough for me to stop by the office" — only in japanese it takes him eight syllables and in english that took me like three times as many LOL so I changed it to something a bit shorter with a similar connotation!
