RIKU NANASE / INDOOR FESTIVAL : PART 5
Oct. 25th, 2015 11:22 pm【RIKU】: It'd be great if we could always do karaoke afterparties after this!
【TSUMUGI】: Riku-san, thank you for all of your hard work at Star Camp!
【TSUMUGI】: The fans were all very pleased with the new song!
【RIKU】: Manager, thanks for all your hard work!
【RIKU】: There were a lot of guests, huh! I'm glad the new song was so well-received!
【RIKU】: It's great that so many people got to hear it!
【TSUMUGI】: Yes!
【TSUMUGI】: The karaoke afterparty was also very exciting!
【TSUMUGI】: It was the first time going together as a group, but it was incredibly fun!
Banri-san came, as well!
【RIKU】: It was so much fun—!
【RIKU】: It'd be great if we could always do karaoke afterparties after this!
【RIKU】: It's fun because you can sing your favorite songs carefreely, and hearing everyone else's songs is fun, and since it's a private room, you can cheer as loudly as you want!
【TSUMUGI】: That's true!
【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san's IDOLiSH7 song was amazing, wasn't it!
【RIKU】: That guy won't sing any songs outside of ours, after all—.
【RIKU】: Does he not know any? I would've wanted to hear him sing more of a variety!
【RIKU】: I thought it was to be expected that he was trying to casually top off the alcohol Mitsuki was drinking with water.
【RIKU】: When he had Mitsuki clinging to him, Iori got so embarrassed, it was really endearing!
【RIKU】: Afterparties are fun, though!
Since there's the feeling of it finally being over, everyone was in such high spirits!
【RIKU】: I'm glad I got to hear you sing, too, manager!
【RIKU】: You were really good! I wanted to hear you sing more!
【TSUMUGI】: Not at all!
【TSUMUGI】: While I enjoy singing, I don't have much confidence, so singing in front of everyone required a bit of courage!
【RIKU】: It was really wonderful!
I liked your song, manager. I really loved it.
【RIKU】: Let's go again together sometime!
【TSUMUGI】: Yamato-san's classic oldie was amazing, wasn't it!
【RIKU】: It was incredible! It was so funny!
【RIKU】: I had no idea that Yamato-san talked so much when he was drunk.
【RIKU】: Since Nagi yelled, "You're being stifling!", it was funny because it was the opposite from usual.
【RIKU】: Nagi was really bewildered, too—.
【RIKU】: Afterparties are fun, though!
Since there's the feeling of it finally being over, everyone was in such high spirits!
【RIKU】: I'm glad I got to hear you sing, too, manager!

【TSUMUGI】: Tamaki-san's rapping was amazing, wasn't it!
【RIKU】: He was really cool—! So Tamaki could speak English that fluently, huh!
【RIKU】: It surprised me when Sogo-san got drunk and started acting like a kid, but since Tamaki yelled, "Stop acting like a kid!", it was funny because it was the opposite from usual.
【RIKU】: Tamaki was really bewildered, too—.

t/n:
1. I'm never really sure how to translate 盛り上がる -- it's kind of like, to go wild, or to get excited, etc. I'm mostly making a note of it because riku and tsumugi both use the same word; riku uses it to refer to the new song's reception, and tsumugi uses it to refer to the karaoke afterparty, but I translated it differently in each instance because english doesn't quite have a word that fits nicely in both circumstances... I guess it might have been better if I'd translated riku's line as "I'm glad the new song got everyone so excited!", but that seems strange to me somehow, still....
2. what do you mean "carefreely" isn't a word
3. okay so whatever it was that yamato sang, my dictionary was translating it as "classic oldie" or "nostalgic song", and honestly I'm not sure what you would really use in english to describe a nostalgic song, since I get the feeling yamato got up there and like started singing enka or something. (wiki says it's generally songs that were released between 1930-50, I think)
so I went with classic oldie, because why not
4. riku says that iori trying to dilute mitsuki's drink with water was さすが, which can have..... a lot of different meanings depending on the context? like, it could be that he was saying "to be expected" (which was how I translated it) because I figured it'd make sense for iori to be like nii-san stop drinking so much, your liver,
it can also mean like "as expected, in a good way" -- like when someone impressive does something impressive, it'd be さすが because ofc you expect something impressive from someone impressive. I think this one is maybe a bit less likely because I'm not sure that riku was like okay yeah iori is right, mitsuki has drank too much.
everyone drank too much.
さすが can also have the connotation of being like, overdone? so riku could have meant it like, iori was really going out of his way (and it was kind of unnecessary) to stop mitsuki from drinking more. honestly I have no idea which one fits the best but I'm leaning towards the first one, but this rabbit chat was so dense I am seeing stars lol
5. I'm glad that riku says that tamaki can speak english fluently but in the main story tamaki's idea of speaking english is spelling out japanese words using english letters
6. I could have sworn that yamato was supposed to be the kind of drunk where it didn't really show until he got totally hammered. mitsuki being a clingy/overaffectionate drunk and sougo being a really..... wild..... drunk....... isn't really anything new, though...
7. I'm not sure whether tamaki (and riku) were saying that sougo was "treating tamaki like a kid" or "acting like a kid in front of tamaki" — the word they used could go either way! I went with "acting like a kid" because that way it would fit the "opposite from usual" theme, but all I remember from the manga chapter where sougo got drunk was that he came out yelling TAAAAAAA-KUN (so apparently that's his petname of choice, the more you know) and it was terrifying.
the ending to that chapter was a good time to be mezzo"推し though LOL
8. this was actually the first fifth chapter that I unlocked (a while ago....) so although translating it took forever, I'm excited to finally have finished translating a card where I unlocked everything! a bunch of the other indoor festival cards also have "karaoke with everyone" as their fifth chapters so I'm looking forward to reading those..... sometime next year probably........
