【TSUMUGI】: ... Iori-san?
【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san? Did you fall asleep?
【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san, about the Usamimi Friends collection... I really am terribly sorry...
【IORI】: I'm not exactly mad about it.
【TSUMUGI】: I didn't realize they were yours...
【TSUMUGI】: I imagined that someone had forgotten to throw them away, and so I thought I ought to clean up...
【IORI】: Haven't I already said that I'm not mad about it?
【TSUMUGI】: I managed to find Mimi-chan and Pero-chan at least, but no matter how hard I try I can't seem to locate Roppu-chan...
【TSUMUGI】: I even tried going around to a few convenience stores, but everything with a Roppu-chan magnet was sold out...
【IORI】: That's because Roppu-chan is rare.
... At least, I've heard rumours such to that extent.
【IORI】: I don't make a habit of collecting foolish things like cute character magnets, after all.
【TSUMUGI】: You mean, you weren't collecting the freebie Usamimi Friends magnets that came with the mineral waters...?
【IORI】: Me? I wouldn't have any childish habits like that.
【TSUMUGI】: But, Tamaki-san said he would give you the magnets every time he drank a water....
【IORI】: It's only for the sake of efficiency.
You can never have too many magnets, correct?
【IORI】: I didn't see a reason to throw them away, so I thought I'd use them as whiteboard magnets. That's all.
【TSUMUGI】: That's all...?
【IORI】: That's all.
【TSUMUGI】: Oh, that's a relief! I'm so glad... I thought maybe I'd accidentally thrown away something terribly important!
【TSUMUGI】: But you did say that you preferred cool and sharp stationary, didn't you?
【IORI】: Well, since you already went to the trouble of collecting them, I suppose I'll simply go ahead and use the Mimi-chan and Pero-chan magnets.
【TSUMUGI】: No!
【TSUMUGI】: As an apology, I'll buy you whatever sort of stylish magnets you prefer as a present, instead!
Hmm, would silver or black ones be good?
【IORI】: There's no need for you to go out of your way and buy anything further.
【IORI】: For now, I'm fine using those something-or-other friends magnets.
【TSUMUGI】: They're Usamimi Friends magnets!
【TSUMUGI】: For you to know the character names but not the series, Iori-san... You must really not be interested in fancy goods, huh?
【IORI】: That sounds correct.
But, since it can't be helped, I don't mind using them. Those two magnets.
【TSUMUGI】: Oh, no! Please don't feel the need to hold back!
【TSUMUGI】: Those two magnets have already been in the wastebasket, so I'll throw them away, and buy you new ones as a present!
【TSUMUGI】: Since it's Iori-san, I think black magnets would probably look best...?
【TSUMUGI】: ... Iori-san?
【TSUMUGI】: Iori-san? Did you fall asleep?

t/n:
1. about the usamimi ("rabbit ears") friends collection, I decided to leave their names in japanese for lack of a good translation, but after doing some digging, here's what I came up with: "mimi-chan" probably has basic rabbit ears, "pero-chan" has short ears that stick up, and "roppu-chan" has floppy ears. two of those don't really sound as cute in english, though.....
2. I am but a lowly translator but I still cracked up every time I put the words "mimi-chan" or w/e into iori's mouth...... child......
3. the original jp title is "やっぱり素直になれなくて", which... reads kind of weirdly as a flat title statement, so that's why the title probably seems strange.
4. I changed around the flow of the words a bit from the original so hopefully it still reads nicely! iori has kind of a roundabout way of speaking on top of being formal and also frank in his words, so I guess I wound up making him sound kind of... passive aggressive.... instead......??
5. iori's rabbit chats are probably my favorite of the 夏の思い出 bunch (granted I don't have the full set but) so I'm really looking forward to translating the next three!
