1. chat icons continue to give me an Ulcer
2. yuki using 笑 also gave me an ulcer
3. so far the only characters who I have seen use ^^ are yuki and ten. please take a moment to think about that while I
4. when yuki talks about yamato being his ex-girlfriend's younger brother he follows up by saying "嘘", which just literally means "lie", but you don't really respond to things by saying "Lie" so usually it'd be something like "I lied" or "that's a lie" ("so why did you translate it as 'jk'" I'M GETTING THERe)
anyways the reason I translated 嘘 as "just kidding" in this case is because so far yuki has 1. been incredibly deadpan 2. speaking incredibly minimally 3. keeps using 笑 which is basically "LOL" and ^^ which is like [shiteating grin]
so I figured that instead of the exchange going like "he's my ex's little brother" "really!?" "I lied" or "he's my ex's little brother" "really!?" "Lies and slander", I thought that putting something like "JK" in made it seem more short and snappy?
for the same reason that I changed yuki's いない ("there isn't one"/"I don't (have one)") when he talks about his illegitimate child (DUDE YOU'RE 27) to "nope"
5. fun fact the word yuki uses to describe yamato can also be interpreted as 'crusty'
