2. I'm leaving koi no kakera as 'koi no kakera' for the sake of....... idk, but the basic literal translation is "fragments of love"
(I still advocate for "loving fragments" though to match with the lyrics)

3. tsumugi uses so many yoroshikus in this chat and I want to die for numerous reasons but! I translated them on each instance to pretty much fill space because yoroshiku by itself has a meaning that is very difficult to convey in english
4. in her line about the office having more leeway, tsumugi says that they're capable of 還元ing, and when I looked up 還元 I kept getting 1. chemistry terms 2. deoxidisation 3. more chemistry terms, so I honestly have no idea what.... the original sentence means.....
apparently it can also mean to 'reduce', or to 'restore' or 'return' so my guess is that tsumugi is saying that because they have more leeway (bc they're making more money) they can afford to spend more because they'll still retain some??? or something????? but why did she use 還元?????? I don't know
5. what tamaki says is 'シングルやだ', which translates more to something like "I don't like singles" or "I don't want a single" but 1. I've looked at the word single too many times it doesn't look like a word anymore 2. both of those felt too wordy as translations? so I changed it a bit by making it 'singles suck' but basically tamaki is objecting to having his own room
because he's afraid of the dark and scared of ghosts, etc.
6. ok first of all sougo is the only member of this cast who will actually finish his broken-off sentences because so far both iori and riku will try to change the meaning partway through, nagi just sort of forgets, and tamaki screams
anyways the word that cut off was "のん", and then later confirmed to be "のんびり", so I cut off "take it easy" similarly!

what else can tamaki not do until he's twenty
actually though it's kind of sad to think about how tamaki says that he likes having his own room, but it's also possible that he's really uncomfortable sleeping in his own room because he grew up always having other people in the room with him at night? he mentions in his day off chats that he had 3 roommates up until middle school, and then one through high school, so living in the dorms would actually be his first time having his own room! so I can kind of see why he still gets freaked out by hotels/new places in that sense
8. tamaki always becomes so verbose in my translations and it is awful but I have no clue how to say these things succinctly because I am so longwinded by nature!!!!

12. ALRIGHT SO first of all I've been staring at sougo's "what made you the happiest" line trying to find the keigo and it is eluding me so I just tried to make his speech a bit more stenciled and hopefully that got the meaning across.
it's probably the です I bet it's the です but anyways
sougo collapsing is a thing that happens a lot because dude's got a weak stomach, but I think the instance he's referring to is probably from the mezzo" unit chats! because in that particular instance tamaki stayed by sougo's side constantly, both when sougo was sick with a stomach flare and when he was dying from a hangover. it's possible that it's referring to the main story instance where sougo's stomach first flares up (after tamaki is deathly late because he got tricked by that one fan) (still not over that being a thing that happened), but I think that's less likely because in that case, riku was the one who stayed by sougo's side iirc (because mezzo was kinda fighting at the time).
anyways, to elaborate on what sougo said a bit more, I think it's actually really important because a lot of sougo's early chats wrt tamaki emphasise this point of "I know he's a gentle kid" "I think he's a gentle kid" "tamaki-kun is a gentle kid", but it's almost always in the context of "but we're fighting" or "but we're not getting along well" or "but we just Cannot Communicate it's like one of us uses keigo and the other one lives off of slang", so there's a lot of sougo having to remind and/or talk himself into thinking of tamaki as being a good person at heart, despite how frustrating working with him has been. so what I think sougo is saying is that from having tamaki take care of him (and in the unit chats he really did a lot please bless my son tamaki yotsuba), he was able to confirm that he was right about tamaki's true nature all along.

13. tsumugi helps clarify on the instance tamaki was referencing, but really the particular instance is one of the only times where sougo takes tamaki's side (in part 1 at least)! I've probably recapped the tamaki's dad drama before but I love nothing if not pain so I'll go over it again real quick. basically a TV program offered to help sponsor the search for aya, and they were going to turn it into like a reality TV show or something WHICH IS A TERRIBLE IDEA but tamaki was like IF I CAN SEE AYA THEN NANDEMO SURU so that was that. anyways they get tamaki on the TV set, and they're like *plays emotional piano music* "SEPARATED SINCE CHILDHOOD..... IT'S TIME FOR THEIR HEARTFELT REUNION.....!!" and tamaki is like [SHOWS ACTUAL EMOTION] U FOUND AYA?????
but then instead it's tamaki's dad who shows up and tamaki basically throws a subwoofer at him and almost breaks mr. shimooooooka's arm or something and tl;dr the entire show is Ruined and yamato has to play golf with mr. shimooka to make up for it
anyways we should look at this event from three different perspectives: from tamaki's, from Not Tamaki's, and then from sougo's. from Not Tamaki's perspective, tamaki had been separated from his father, and then he was going to be reunited. Sounds Like Heartwarming Family Times! I See No Way In Which This Could Go Poorly. from tamaki's perspective, though, he's never talked about his bad relationship with his dad (actually he'd hardly ever even referenced his dad, the only family member he really talked about was aya, you'd think, that'd be a hint, about which one he waNTS TO MEET), but knowing tamaki's family history he does not have a good relationship with his dad!!! in fact he had a pretty terrible one, in some instances tamaki flat out says that it was his dad's fault his mom died, and we can also surmise that the yotsuba dad was pretty much denied custody of tamaki and aya? so? clearly he is not A+ father material, probably not even F- material. so for tamaki he pretty much snapped at seeing this dude again after like 10+ years
but, again, nobody from the studio necessarily knew all of that (altho tamaki talks to tsumugi about it in his ordinary day rabbit chats So There's That)
anywaYS from sougo's perspective I think the main reason he defended tamaki was because he was mostly projecting his own complexes re: his dad onto tamaki, mostly because I don't think at that point sougo and tamaki had necessarily talked about tamaki's family situation beyond aya; their unit chats reference them talking more about what tamaki's memories of aya were, and his memories of his mother dying, but not really anything about his dad. it's possible that sougo was able to infer that tamaki and his dad had a bad relationship, though!
but what's important here is that 1. sougo actually protected tamaki instead of scolding him and in this case it also happened to be one of the instances where pretty much it was Tamaki Yotsuba Vs. The World because everyone was like "you seriously have to go and apologise for, like, almost maiming this man who has been??? doing a lot to support us???? and is also named after one of the producers who wriTES THIS GAME??????", but also 2. There Be Some Parallels At Work Here so I'm starting another translation note
14. ok so what struck me the most about sougo's explanation is the fact that it's a recurring theme where normally sougo is the first one to lecture tamaki when he strikes out, but more than that, it's that sougo himself is aware of this habit of his. in his first outdoor fes chat he explains to tsumugi basically that "tamaki-kun was hurt, but I didn't realise that, and instead spoke harshly to him", and there are a lot of other instances where tamaki complains about how sougo doesn't prioritise him (a bunch of them are in part 2), which goes along with that theme of prioritising scolding tamaki over considering his feelings. so it's really huge I think that in this case sougo was able to realise that tamaki was hurt, and defend him, before trying to lecture or reshape his behaviour.
granted imo it largely came about as a result of sougo exercising his empathy/projection muscles and being like Well Shit If My Dad Showed Up I'd Probably Make Him Hold A Potato, but sougo's explanation is still a very good continuation of what one of his major problems with regards to interacting with tamaki has been up until now, so!!

2. I'm leaving koi no kakera as 'koi no kakera' for the sake of....... idk, but the basic literal translation is "fragments of love"
(I still advocate for "loving fragments" though to match with the lyrics)

3. tsumugi uses so many yoroshikus in this chat and I want to die for numerous reasons but! I translated them on each instance to pretty much fill space because yoroshiku by itself has a meaning that is very difficult to convey in english
4. in her line about the office having more leeway, tsumugi says that they're capable of 還元ing, and when I looked up 還元 I kept getting 1. chemistry terms 2. deoxidisation 3. more chemistry terms, so I honestly have no idea what.... the original sentence means.....
apparently it can also mean to 'reduce', or to 'restore' or 'return' so my guess is that tsumugi is saying that because they have more leeway (bc they're making more money) they can afford to spend more because they'll still retain some??? or something????? but why did she use 還元?????? I don't know
5. what tamaki says is 'シングルやだ', which translates more to something like "I don't like singles" or "I don't want a single" but 1. I've looked at the word single too many times it doesn't look like a word anymore 2. both of those felt too wordy as translations? so I changed it a bit by making it 'singles suck' but basically tamaki is objecting to having his own room
because he's afraid of the dark and scared of ghosts, etc.
6. ok first of all sougo is the only member of this cast who will actually finish his broken-off sentences because so far both iori and riku will try to change the meaning partway through, nagi just sort of forgets, and tamaki screams
anyways the word that cut off was "のん", and then later confirmed to be "のんびり", so I cut off "take it easy" similarly!

actually though it's kind of sad to think about how tamaki says that he likes having his own room, but it's also possible that he's really uncomfortable sleeping in his own room because he grew up always having other people in the room with him at night? he mentions in his day off chats that he had 3 roommates up until middle school, and then one through high school, so living in the dorms would actually be his first time having his own room! so I can kind of see why he still gets freaked out by hotels/new places in that sense
8. tamaki always becomes so verbose in my translations and it is awful but I have no clue how to say these things succinctly because I am so longwinded by nature!!!!

12. ALRIGHT SO first of all I've been staring at sougo's "what made you the happiest" line trying to find the keigo and it is eluding me so I just tried to make his speech a bit more stenciled and hopefully that got the meaning across.
it's probably the です I bet it's the です but anyways
sougo collapsing is a thing that happens a lot because dude's got a weak stomach, but I think the instance he's referring to is probably from the mezzo" unit chats! because in that particular instance tamaki stayed by sougo's side constantly, both when sougo was sick with a stomach flare and when he was dying from a hangover. it's possible that it's referring to the main story instance where sougo's stomach first flares up (after tamaki is deathly late because he got tricked by that one fan) (still not over that being a thing that happened), but I think that's less likely because in that case, riku was the one who stayed by sougo's side iirc (because mezzo was kinda fighting at the time).
anyways, to elaborate on what sougo said a bit more, I think it's actually really important because a lot of sougo's early chats wrt tamaki emphasise this point of "I know he's a gentle kid" "I think he's a gentle kid" "tamaki-kun is a gentle kid", but it's almost always in the context of "but we're fighting" or "but we're not getting along well" or "but we just Cannot Communicate it's like one of us uses keigo and the other one lives off of slang", so there's a lot of sougo having to remind and/or talk himself into thinking of tamaki as being a good person at heart, despite how frustrating working with him has been. so what I think sougo is saying is that from having tamaki take care of him (and in the unit chats he really did a lot please bless my son tamaki yotsuba), he was able to confirm that he was right about tamaki's true nature all along.

13. tsumugi helps clarify on the instance tamaki was referencing, but really the particular instance is one of the only times where sougo takes tamaki's side (in part 1 at least)! I've probably recapped the tamaki's dad drama before but I love nothing if not pain so I'll go over it again real quick. basically a TV program offered to help sponsor the search for aya, and they were going to turn it into like a reality TV show or something WHICH IS A TERRIBLE IDEA but tamaki was like IF I CAN SEE AYA THEN NANDEMO SURU so that was that. anyways they get tamaki on the TV set, and they're like *plays emotional piano music* "SEPARATED SINCE CHILDHOOD..... IT'S TIME FOR THEIR HEARTFELT REUNION.....!!" and tamaki is like [SHOWS ACTUAL EMOTION] U FOUND AYA?????
but then instead it's tamaki's dad who shows up and tamaki basically throws a subwoofer at him and almost breaks mr. shimooooooka's arm or something and tl;dr the entire show is Ruined and yamato has to play golf with mr. shimooka to make up for it
anyways we should look at this event from three different perspectives: from tamaki's, from Not Tamaki's, and then from sougo's. from Not Tamaki's perspective, tamaki had been separated from his father, and then he was going to be reunited. Sounds Like Heartwarming Family Times! I See No Way In Which This Could Go Poorly. from tamaki's perspective, though, he's never talked about his bad relationship with his dad (actually he'd hardly ever even referenced his dad, the only family member he really talked about was aya, you'd think, that'd be a hint, about which one he waNTS TO MEET), but knowing tamaki's family history he does not have a good relationship with his dad!!! in fact he had a pretty terrible one, in some instances tamaki flat out says that it was his dad's fault his mom died, and we can also surmise that the yotsuba dad was pretty much denied custody of tamaki and aya? so? clearly he is not A+ father material, probably not even F- material. so for tamaki he pretty much snapped at seeing this dude again after like 10+ years
but, again, nobody from the studio necessarily knew all of that (altho tamaki talks to tsumugi about it in his ordinary day rabbit chats So There's That)
anywaYS from sougo's perspective I think the main reason he defended tamaki was because he was mostly projecting his own complexes re: his dad onto tamaki, mostly because I don't think at that point sougo and tamaki had necessarily talked about tamaki's family situation beyond aya; their unit chats reference them talking more about what tamaki's memories of aya were, and his memories of his mother dying, but not really anything about his dad. it's possible that sougo was able to infer that tamaki and his dad had a bad relationship, though!
but what's important here is that 1. sougo actually protected tamaki instead of scolding him and in this case it also happened to be one of the instances where pretty much it was Tamaki Yotsuba Vs. The World because everyone was like "you seriously have to go and apologise for, like, almost maiming this man who has been??? doing a lot to support us???? and is also named after one of the producers who wriTES THIS GAME??????", but also 2. There Be Some Parallels At Work Here so I'm starting another translation note
14. ok so what struck me the most about sougo's explanation is the fact that it's a recurring theme where normally sougo is the first one to lecture tamaki when he strikes out, but more than that, it's that sougo himself is aware of this habit of his. in his first outdoor fes chat he explains to tsumugi basically that "tamaki-kun was hurt, but I didn't realise that, and instead spoke harshly to him", and there are a lot of other instances where tamaki complains about how sougo doesn't prioritise him (a bunch of them are in part 2), which goes along with that theme of prioritising scolding tamaki over considering his feelings. so it's really huge I think that in this case sougo was able to realise that tamaki was hurt, and defend him, before trying to lecture or reshape his behaviour.
granted imo it largely came about as a result of sougo exercising his empathy/projection muscles and being like Well Shit If My Dad Showed Up I'd Probably Make Him Hold A Potato, but sougo's explanation is still a very good continuation of what one of his major problems with regards to interacting with tamaki has been up until now, so!!
