Nagi-san has times where he's childish, but he's gentlemanly, and something such as a scary side.....

But, sometimes those eyes seem like they're gonna stare right through me and I get scared.

1. chronologically speaking the pythagoras ch.3s go mitsuki -> nagi -> yamato, fyi! I would have done mitsuki's first but I already had yamato's ch1 done whereas mitsuki's is Not Done, so I took the path of least resistance and chronological accuracy
anyways, this chat takes place either after or during tsumugi's conversation with nagi in his third chat!
2. have I ever mentioned how much I hate implied subjects in rabbit chat titles
3. I think that tsumugi's "I'm so glad to hear they were an acquaintance" is part of her attempt at trying to bait yamato into answering for the sins of making nagi rokuya cry by getting him to talk about who the person he was out with was, but on the surface level I'm laughing over tsumugi being like "I'm so glad you didn't let a complete stranger take you out to dinner yamato-san"
4. yamato saying that he feels 責められてる is kinda depressing tho! it's the kind of word where I feel like a lot of the connotations have to do with being cornered / feeling guilty?
5. yamato pulling the onii-san card during a serious conversation makes me question leaving it in the text once again but Here We Are
6. there are a lot of nuances in this chat that I feel like I should revisit OnCe I LEarn How To TyPe like these characters, or else once I'm not about to fall asleep, but I think mitsuki's third chapter kinda hints at a bit of what it was yamato was going to talk about before he fell asleep or w/e
for the record I can't say for certain whether he Legit Fell Asleep or if he Got Embarrassed/Something Else and is Feigning Sleep (personally I'd lean towards legit fell asleep in a drunken stupor but I haven't read his fourth chat yet)
7. I think the general implication that I had in mind while translating this chat is that a.) Yamato Nikaido Has A Guilt Complex The Size Of China
and, uh, mostly that, actually,
but moreso that since he's a person who's not necessarily in the idol business 'cause it's his Big Time Dream Or Chance (he mentions mitsuki because he's the #1 idol ni naritai character, but sougo and riku/tamaki (to a lesser extent) also kinda fall in that category) and so when he stands next to people who are working as hard as they can at a dream they've always had (mitsuki izumi), he probably feels kind of like he's sullying their dream? like, here are these people who are full of passion, and I'm just an onii-san with a weird revenge vendetta (or otherwise less than kosher motive) — hence why even way back at the audition in the first chapter yamato's the first person to duck out
the reason yamato references nagi is probably because he has beautiful eyes, but moreso because nagi's got a lot of group love? not to mention he's closest with mitsuki and yamato names mitsuki as the prime guy he feels apologetic towards! but with nagi he has like that I Aishiteru Everyone thing, and so 1. he looks at yamato and yamato probably feels like nagi is wondering if he (yamato) really loves everyone, and 2. when nagi looks at yamato he probably also feels like nagi is silently reproaching him because of mitsuki
there's also just the general reason that nagi likes to know people well (and likes them to know kokona well in return), and if yamato nikaido likes one thing it is Not Being Known Well, so the fact that he holds people at a distance probably also adds to him feeling like nagi's blaming him for something!

8. regarding the title tho (I hate it), the 悟る that's being used is I think meant to imply a sense of like.... a secret being (forcibly) let out? so in this case the title is meant to convey that yamato is dealing w/ some omoi he does not want to have people making themselves privy to/nor does he want to let people be privy to them, I think!
