1. iori calls tsumugi 紡マネージャー/tsumugi-manager (ofc w/ the player's name instead of tsumugi) and it looks.... pretty awkward...... if I write Manager Tsumugi or Tsumugi-manager, so I'm just going to have him call her manager and make a note of it right here that he actually refers to her by her name+manager! most of the other boys just call her "manager." granted I think the main reason iori uses her name is because he's also, kind of, a manager, so,
fun fact though the second time he says "manager" he doesn't stick her name onto it. unfortunately w/ my decision to drop her name entirely, this nuance is lost in translation....
2. iori's wording kinda weirded me out a bit when he talked about speaking frankly -- the gist of it is that he's saying that the reason he supported choosing riku as i7's center is because he recognizes the latter's potential, rather than him supporting riku as the center because he wanted to be sold as a friendly set w/ him. I hope I could convey that meaning over in my translation, but if it's confusing, let me just say that the japanese confused me, too....... ;;
3. tsumugi literally says "uu"
4. the song that iori and tsumugi are referencing is fly away!, of course. I think several others have already translated the lyrics better than I could ever hope to, but the opening of the song is a call & response between iori and riku that basically goes like r: "you're as precocious* as ever, there really isn't anything endearing about you!" / i: "that's okay, I don't need you to find me endearing!" and, tbh, I can't blame iori for being like wtf,
* the word he uses is 生意気, which is... sort of like being precocious but also kind of bratty and most of all inexperienced? like a raw egg.
